Sloane Elizabeth Churchman MS, RD/N, LD is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist with the National Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Sloane has nearly a decade of experience in the field of nutrition and wellness. She is known for her compassionate, non-judgemental, and down to earth approach with her clients- seeing them as a person first, a client second. She loves to share her knowledge & experience with her clients; meeting people ‘right where they are’ on their journey to wellness. She also places a great deal of value on lightheartedness & humor as part of the healing process.
Sloane began her nutrition education at Louisiana State University, graduating with her B.S. in Nutrition & Dietetics. She furthered her education by earning a M.S. in Human Health & Performance with a concentration in Nutrition and Wellness at McNeese State University; where she concurrently completed a 1200+ hour dietetic internship at a variety of local hospitals, clinics, food service organizations, and in the community.

Her career has afforded her the opportunity to practice in almost any nutrition care setting you can imagine, including: Trauma & Intensive Care Units, Diabetes Education, Long-Term Care at Nursing Homes, Kidney Dialysis, Cardiac Rehab, Wound Care, Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation, and Eating Disorders.

Although Sloane loves helping all her clients improve their health, she found her true passion and speciality when she began working with clients with eating disorders (as well as clients who may not have a diagnosable eating disorder; but have complex, traumatic, or toxic relationships with food and body image). She believes that people find many different ways to cope with the hardships that we face in life. For those that turn to food to find that comfort, it can be particularly difficult to navigate since we have to eat everyday for the rest of our lives.

In her years of practice, Sloane has observed that a person’s food choices and relationship with food usually mirrors their life; and she truly believes that if we heal a person’s relationship with food, we put them on the path to healing their life. Let her help you find peace and joy again in eating- and ultimately, peace and joy again in your life.

She is currently pursuing the advanced practice level certification of CEDRD (Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian) through IADEP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals).

Please reach out if you feel you could benefit from working with this clinician; she specializes in working with clients ages 12 and older with eating disorders; but also sees clients who desire medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling, and nutrition education for a variety of health reasons. She would love to chat with you to see if she is the ‘right fit’ for your health and wellness needs.
