Erica Girardeau, LMT
I decided to go to massage school because I knew that a career in helping people would be one worth pursuing. Massage school was the first time I was exposed to an environment where people are passionate about their profession. I got to use my hands in an intuitive way, and it confirmed that massage therapy was the right path for me.
One of my favorite things working as a therapist so far is realizing that I am the medium between people’s bodies and their minds. I can bring their awareness to their bodies as I work on them, and in this way, we’re really working together to achieve healing.
I am a recent transplant from Los Angeles, California. I’m appreciating the change that a different corner of the country has brought to me. A few of my favorite things are yoga, being in new and beautiful places, and spending genuine time with myself and others.
Erica offers myofascial release massage therapy at HealthWorks. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and surgical procedures create myofascial restrictions that can produce extremely high pressure on pain-sensitive structures, restricting muscle, lymph, and blood flow. Myofascial adhesions don’t show up on many diagnostic tests and can be a source of mysterious underlying pain.
Try myofascial release if you have:
- sharp “muscle” pulls that don’t get better with stretching
- plantar fasciitis
- “old injuries”
- have had surgery
- tight muscles that never seem to let go
Book a myofascial massage with Erica if you have any of these problems. Online booking here: https://healthworkstx.intakeq.com/booking
