The Change You Fear

“People want to know about their purpose, why are they here on the planet? It’s the question that won’t go away, because the answer reveals that we are here to wake up, to discover our true nature—our gifts, talents and capacities—and to express them.  That’s why we’re here”.     Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith

It’s not a good feeling to be unhappy and not know what you really want in life, especially when from the outside, it looks like you have everything!

You say you don’t know what you want.

The TRUTH is that you do know what you want, but you are afraid:

  • that you might not be allowed to have it,
  • saying it out loud would totally change your life,
  • you aren’t worthy of “it”,
  • you will be abandoned,
  • name your fear of why you won’t acknowledge what you really want.

You are wondering if I say it, if I dare choose it, it’s going to change my life, but am I up for that?

That change that you fear is called growth or evolution and human beings are meant for more growth throughout our lives.  And it’s connected with our purpose, why we are here.

So how can you change your life when:

  • Your husband left you and you are too “old” to start over.
  • Your kids have grown and gone off to college and now you don’t really know what to do.
  • Your company downsized and you find yourself at a crossroad wondering what to do next.
  • You are on your 3rd boss and it’s just not working out.
  • You are having health challenge totally unexpected and now what?
  • You have no time
  • The issue you are facing now

Life is life and often doesn’t go the way we want or expect it to. Resistance and fear will come up when faced with something new.

You can rush around trying to change your circumstances or your situation or the people in your life – like rush into another relationship, start volunteering or take a part time job to fill up your time, quickly starting a new job search, or rush from doctor to doctor, move houses, whatever changes your circumstances.

You can have the cancer cut out, you can divorce the man you hated, you can move away from your parents and siblings, you can go all out and lose the weight,

And when the day is done, you are still you… the same you that created the situation you are in that you wanted to change. Chances are, when the dust settles, you will find nothing has really changed but the scenery.

To change anything in your life, it starts with your thinking. Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality.

That means if you want your life to change, you have to do the INNER work.

Right now, the life you have is a match to who you are – your thoughts, beliefs, how you perceive life and the world. If you want something different, your thoughts must match that which you desire to be, do and have in your life.

Any other way and I will tell you – “Where ever you go, there you are.”

Living a life you absolutely LOVE is not wishful thinking.  It is necessary for great health, loving relationships, feeling fulfilled and on purpose, and living an abundant life with time and money for the things that matter most to you.   People who live with purpose are far happier, less stressed, and live longer than those who don’t.

No one knows how long they have in this precious gift called life.

Isn’t it time to experience LIFE even more fully and start identifying and moving towards a life you truly love?

IF this speaks to you, you can start with MyMindScore. This test will provide you with an in-depth assessment and recommendations as to what you can do today to start living a life you LOVE!

Distress or Chronic Stress

Distress or chronic stress is uncontrollable, prolonged, or overwhelming stress. Once stress becomes distress, the body manages to survive though not always to thrive. For example, when faced with periods of chronic stress, the body’s immune system function is lowered, and the digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems no longer function the way they should. In a state of distress, the cells of the immune system (and other body systems) are unable to respond normally and produce levels of inflammation which increase the risk of further health issues.

Homeostasis refers to your body’s ability to regulate itself and maintain a comparatively stable internal environment despite external and internal conditions and events.

Your body is designed to be in a state of homeostasis, where all the systems within are functioning optimally.

Stressor is anything that is perceived by the body as challenging, threatening or demanding.

Health Story

In the context of My Wellbeing Compass, your “Health Story” represents the combination of your dis-eases, conditions, symptoms and the history that binds them together. It is multi-layered and multi-dimensional. Unearthing and resolving the root causes at the core of your Health Story is the only way to truly rewrite this Story.

Natural Self-repair Mechanisms

The body is made up of intelligent, living cells that are dynamically connected. They communicate and just know what to do and when to do it in any given situation. They grow, replicate, repair, and age. Every 90 days, the body has a new bloodstream; every year, it manufactures billions of new cells; colon cells refresh every 4 days; the skin is entirely regenerated every 2-3 weeks; white blood cells regenerate in about 1 year; the liver renews itself at least once every 2 years; and the skeleton replaces its cells entirely every 10 years.

You are an incredibly complex, interactive, and dynamic living organism that is well-equipped with self-repair mechanisms that can fight infections, eliminate toxins, fix damaged DNA, destroy cancer cells, and even slow down aging.

This natural self-healing ability (also referred to as cellular intelligence or body’s innate intelligence) explains spontaneous remissions from seemingly “incurable” diseases.
