A New Year A New You!

Each New Year brings us time for reflection, especially after the hustle and joy of the holiday season.  We suddenly stop and we are left with ourselves and what we love about our lives and what we feel is missing or what we really want next year.

How many people throw out Resolutions (or as I call them – Hopes) for the New Year, especially after allowing themselves to indulge during the holiday?  And how many people actually meet their goal?

What’s your wish for the New Year?  Better relationships, or maybe even a new relationship,  a job that you absolutely love, one that pays you what you are worth and treats you with dignity and respect and fulfills your deepest purpose.

Or you want more time to do the things that you love to do, like take a trip, get creative, binge on a day of Netflix, take classes, read books, ride your bike…  Or more money to be able to support your favorite foundations or take your family on vacation.

Or maybe you want to be done with your health challenges so that you can start living again.

Whatever you want in your life that isn’t there now is a matter of awareness and decision.

What you believe is demonstrated in your life.

For example, if you believe life is hard, you will find ways to see that your life is hard, and will continue making your life hard.

If you believe you are too old for that job or that relationship you want, you will carry doubt or fear into what you do and repel what you say you want.

If you believe you can’t have what you want or aren’t worthy of having it, you won’t have it!  EVER!

The first step to a new you, one who is happy, having fun, living a life you truly love, is to DECIDE YOU WANT CHANGE.  Yes YOU,  this is about YOU, not how old you are, how tall you are, how much money you have or don’t, how you look, what “he” or “she” did to you.  It all boils down to YOU and what you believe and think, and feel.

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”  Norman Vincent Peale

Next sit down and look honestly at what is currently in your life. If you like it, good. If you love it great! If you aren’t that thrilled with it, get real with yourself about what you believe and your patterns of thinking.

We are all brought up with beliefs of our parents and ancestors to some extent. We are taught to be “Safe” and “practical” and take the safe options, in other words to play small. Their beliefs and often their words may be ingrained in your being… but YOU can CHANGE whatever beliefs no longer serve you.

No wonder New Year’s Resolutions seldom work. We set wishful desires without changing the mindset required to see them fulfilled.  The point of power for changing ANYTHING in your life lies within you.

Isn’t it time… You get what you really want? More Happiness, More Freedom, More Fun and Fulfillment?  Make 2019 your BEST YEAR ever!

To your Success and Happiness in 2019 and beyond…

Distress or Chronic Stress

Distress or chronic stress is uncontrollable, prolonged, or overwhelming stress. Once stress becomes distress, the body manages to survive though not always to thrive. For example, when faced with periods of chronic stress, the body’s immune system function is lowered, and the digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems no longer function the way they should. In a state of distress, the cells of the immune system (and other body systems) are unable to respond normally and produce levels of inflammation which increase the risk of further health issues.

Homeostasis

Homeostasis refers to your body’s ability to regulate itself and maintain a comparatively stable internal environment despite external and internal conditions and events.

Your body is designed to be in a state of homeostasis, where all the systems within are functioning optimally.

Stressor

Stressor is anything that is perceived by the body as challenging, threatening or demanding.

Health Story

In the context of My Wellbeing Compass, your “Health Story” represents the combination of your dis-eases, conditions, symptoms and the history that binds them together. It is multi-layered and multi-dimensional. Unearthing and resolving the root causes at the core of your Health Story is the only way to truly rewrite this Story.

Natural Self-repair Mechanisms

The body is made up of intelligent, living cells that are dynamically connected. They communicate and just know what to do and when to do it in any given situation. They grow, replicate, repair, and age. Every 90 days, the body has a new bloodstream; every year, it manufactures billions of new cells; colon cells refresh every 4 days; the skin is entirely regenerated every 2-3 weeks; white blood cells regenerate in about 1 year; the liver renews itself at least once every 2 years; and the skeleton replaces its cells entirely every 10 years.

You are an incredibly complex, interactive, and dynamic living organism that is well-equipped with self-repair mechanisms that can fight infections, eliminate toxins, fix damaged DNA, destroy cancer cells, and even slow down aging.

This natural self-healing ability (also referred to as cellular intelligence or body’s innate intelligence) explains spontaneous remissions from seemingly “incurable” diseases.
